Pictures your nonprofit can actually use

Your event photographs should do more than prove the room was full.

They should help you thank donors, recognize sponsors, promote next year’s event, update your website, create an annual report, send a press release, and remind people why your work matters.

A picture really can say a thousand words. For a nonprofit, the right picture can help those words reach the people who need to hear them.

I know what to look for

There is a lot happening at a gala, and most of it is not happening on the stage.

I photograph the room, the decor, the guests arriving, the speakers, the honorees, the board members, the volunteers, and the people making everything run behind the scenes.

I also watch for the things you cannot put on a shot list. The reaction during a speech. The hug after an award. The donor laughing at a table. The volunteer who finally gets to enjoy the event after working all day.

The formal photographs matter. So do the pictures that make the night feel like your event instead of just another ballroom.

Your sponsors need photographs too

Sponsors do not want to hear that their sign was somewhere in the room. They want to see it.

I photograph sponsor signage, branded displays, step-and-repeat portraits, sponsored areas, auction items, and the people your organization needs photographed together.

That gives you useful pictures for sponsor thank-you emails, newsletters, social media, and next year’s sponsorship materials.

It also gives your sponsors photographs they will be happy to share.

No searching through the gallery for the one usable picture

The development director may need a strong photograph of a donor. The communications team may need a wide picture of the room. The board may want photographs of the honorees. A sponsor may need a picture that includes its logo.

I photograph all of it.

Your gallery will include wide room photographs, candid guest pictures, formal groups, speakers, awards, sponsor details, reactions, and the parts of the program that matter most.

You should not have to reuse the same three pictures every time your organization sends an email.

Not every nonprofit event is a black-tie gala

Some events have chandeliers, speeches, and a packed dance floor. Others have volunteers in T-shirts, a conference panel, a community program, or twenty donors gathered in a small room.

I photograph both.

What matters is understanding why everyone is there, who needs to be photographed, and what your organization will need after the event.

Professional photography from someone who cares about the work

I genuinely love photographing nonprofit events.

It is an honor to meet the people doing this work and to create photographs that help them explain it. I pay attention, I work hard, and I care about giving your team a gallery it can use long after the last guest goes home.

I also know how much trust is involved. You are hiring me to photograph the people supporting your mission and the moments your organization may only get once.

I take that seriously.

A quick note about nonprofit photography pricing

I charge fair market prices for professional photography.

My equipment, insurance, editing time, software, travel, and other business expenses do not change based on an organization’s tax status. Charging fairly is what allows me to stay in business and continue doing this work well.
